Stir-fried shrimp and egg noodles, the evening delight at Chilli Thai.

Visiting Chilli Thai in the afternoon, I indulged in a plate of stir-fried shrimp and egg noodles in a cool, tranquil space that evoked a gentle feeling.

  • Price: 120,000 VND/plate
  • Address: 38 Mac Thi Buoi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Highlight dish: Stir-fried shrimp and egg noodles

Chilli Thai is dubbed as a miniature Thailand within the city, as both its decor and ambiance immerse diners in a blend of ancient and modern Thai essence. The lush greenery and meditative atmosphere have made many customers feel very comfortable from their first visit.

Being an avid lover of noodles, I didn’t hesitate to opt for the visually appealing Thai-style Stir-fried shrimp and egg noodles. While this dish is quite common in Thailand, I have enjoyed it numerous times, yet I still admire Chilli Thai’s delicate and visually enticing cooking and presentation.

The noodles were perfectly cooked, neither too soft nor too chewy like some places I’ve tried before. Wrapped in a thin layer of egg, the peeled shrimp made it convenient for diners as there was less need for manual peeling. The seasoning was just right for those with mild palates like myself, but you could also customize it with lime and soy sauce. Additionally, the evenly mixed peanuts, scallions, and chili lent a fragrant spiciness, yet still maintained a substantial texture to the dish.

Sourness and spiciness are characteristic of Thai cuisine. Although Stir-fried noodles are quite common, Chilli Thai undoubtedly stands out as the only Thai restaurant that truly impresses me with this dish.

Furthermore, you can also enjoy the flavorful and distinctive Tomyum soup, another favorite of mine at Chilli Thai.

Or end on a perfect note with their eye-catching and unique desserts or drinks, which are a fitting suggestion for everyone.
