Japanese-style rice and dumplings at El Sol
El Sol exudes a classical style with its dark hues but stands out with its incredibly special Japanese dishes. El Sol’s Japanese rice sets are no strangers to Japanese or Vietnamese diners who often work in District 1.
- Price: 80,000 VND for 2 people
- Address: Level 2, 4 Nguyen Sieu Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
The first impression is the rich menu of the restaurant, offering various dishes such as pasta, rice, salad, providing diners with plenty of choices. I ordered a Japanese rice set and fried dumplings to try something new.
The Japanese rice is made by the Japanese chef himself with distinctive flavors, providing office workers with ample nutrition and energy.
A rice set with many dishes such as mixed salad, scrambled eggs, or Japanese-style pizza will allow you to experience more.
The highlight of the rice set I ordered is the Japanese-style fried dumplings with a filling of meat mixed with vegetables and wasabi, creating a unique taste sensation. Despite being fried to a golden brown, the dumpling skins are not too oily. The meat filling pairs perfectly with soy sauce or chili sauce.
I was impressed by the rice dish because of its visually appealing presentation, homemade taste, and cleanliness. The rice is garnished with sesame seeds, adding a fragrant and nutty flavor. The waiter also informed me that El Sol only uses Japanese rice to cook the best dishes for diners.
In addition to food, El Sol also offers a variety of beverages.
I’ve been to El Sol many times, but for me, El Sol at night is truly romantic and cozy, making it an ideal dating spot.
