De Nuong Nguyen Thang

If you mark a country in terms of their handling of goat bbq meat, Vietnam punches far above its weight. That being said, goat is not a commonly found protein around the world. However those should take note of the Vietnamese affection of this meat. Most goat places have similar variations of goat served in the following ways: In hot pot, grilled, in a curry and in salad partially cured in lime juice. What sets Lẩu Dê Đồng Hương apart are two items on their menu, the first is the grilled Goat “De Nuong Nguyen Thang”, which unlike most goat restaurants, its fabulously tender. Marinated and grilled to perfection, 100 grams will cost you about 55K, accompanied by the usual platter of herbs and fermented tofu sauce, its truly succulent.

Goat Blood Sausage

The second dish which we keep going back for is the goat blood sausage (Doi De Nuong), similar to the blood puddings of Europe, these are smaller, rich with flavor and again accompanied by herbs and tofu sauce. Probably unlike any blood pudding you’ve ever had. The price is 108,000VND / portion. Despite these two dishes being highlighted we do want to emphasize that everything on their menu is grand. For example, their hotpot comes with wasabi cabbage adding a nice kick others don’t have, and of course their goat curry(Ca Ri De) is rich and tender.

  • BBQ goat (De Nuong Nguyen Thang) – 55K/100grams
  • Goat Sausage (Doi De Nuong) – 108,000VND
  • Goat Curry ( Ca Ri De) – 178K-218K
  • Hot pot ( Lau De) – 208K – 258K
